We celebrated Halloween at EC Montreal today! All staff and students were asked to come dressed up in a costume. We had a classroom competition to see which class had the most costumes. The EC Montreal administrative team went around to all the classes to wish our students a Happy Halloween and to distribute candy! We also took this time to judge the winners of our competition. The winning class would receive a pizza lunch as a prize! In addition, EC Montreal held its annual Halloween party and fashion show! We had prizes for the best student costumes and best teacher costume. We served some festive refreshments and got everyone into the Halloween spirit! Our winning teacher was Fred who dressed up like “a guy you can count on”. After the party, we surprised the winning class with their pizzas! Every single student in the class, including the teacher was wearing a costume! Congratulations to Fred’s class! Thank you for getting into the Halloween spirit and for making today so much more fun! We hope you enjoyed your winning pizza!! Djamel’s class came in 2nd place, so they were awarded with a box of donuts. Clelia’s class was a close 3rd, so we had to give them a prize as well! Although Pooria only has 2 students, they both dressed up and also had 100% participation! They got a small prize as well. After the catwalk, we gave out prizes to the scariest, funniest and best overall costume. Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who came to school with a great Halloween spirit! The EC Montreal administrative team dressed up like hippies! We had tons of fun all day long with our staff and students wishing everyone “peace and love”. Happy Halloween from our EC Montreal family! Come …
Ana Beatriz Carvajalino Galeano is a lovely young lady from Colombia participating in EC Montreal’s French programme. Sadly, Friday will be her last day at EC Montreal. Here is what she wanted to share with everyone about her EC experience: I stayed for 3 months at EC Montreal, and it was the most amazing experience ever. I took the French course and I started from knowing nothing to being able to start a conversation. All the teachers are great. They teach you a lot and all the students are really nice. I have beautiful memories from my classes and even with after school outings. One time my friend’s homestay, Valerie, invited me and my friends to a lovely experience. In general, everything in these 3 months was perfect. I would recommend EC to my friends back home and I would love to come back. Thanks for everything! Study and take our French courses in Montreal and start a new conversation!
Every week, EC Montreal holds a focus group with a group of students departing from different parts of the world who are here participating in the many different programmes offered by EC. The purpose of the focus group is to get as much feedback from our students as possible about their EC experience. This feedback helps us to improve our services and implement changes at the center level. These conversations with students and reading their feedback is what sparks our creativity and gives us wonderful ideas of things we can be doing differently. Today’s session with students included students from Brazil, Turkey and Belgium. Here is what they had to say about their experience at EC Montreal: Oguz Baskurt From Turkey I came here from Toronto for I wanted to see Montreal before going back to my country. I stayed in Ontario for almost 8 months. I tried lots of EC activities such as meeting before the beginning of classes. I like EC Montreal more than EC Toronto because there aren’t a lot of Turkish people and I don’t have to speak Turkish. I haven’t been to many activities at EC Montreal. I will recommend EC to my friends. Carolina Cabral From Brazil I chose this destination because my husband stayed here 4 years ago and liked it a lot. I think it was a good experience for me. I could improve my English during the 3 weeks. I think EC is a good school with good teachers and I would recommend it to a friend. I preferred the Monday, Wednesday and Friday classes because I could learn more grammar and vocabulary together. Carollyne Melnik Lucas From Brazil I chose Montreal because it is a multi-cultural city and also my aunt lives here. I learned English and …

Camilla Ramos Seccon is a lovely woman from Brazil participating in EC Montreal’s General English programme. Sadly, Friday is her last day at EC. Here is what she wanted to share with everyone about her EC experience: I chose Montreal because I wanted to know another city in Canada besides Toronto. The fact that it is a bilingual city also made me chose it over Vancouver. I learned general English. My class was the advanced level and helped me improve my writing and speaking skills. The lessons are dynamic and also surprising! It was great to discuss TED talks, for example. The teachers were also an important part of my daily school life. I stayed at La Marq residence which was very convenient. I walked to school every day. It is a short 15-minute walk and there are many stops and places to eat along the way. I will recommend EC to all my friends! Learn a new language and study at our Montreal English school!

Here is what she wanted to share with everyone about her EC experience: I had studied at EC San Francisco and LA before coming here, so I knew the school from a previous experience and Montreal seemed like an interesting bilingual destination. I have been learning very much vocabulary and grammar of the French language and as I see it, I have improved my communication skills. Certainly, I will recommend both Montreal and the EC chain school to my friends. Every minute here has been worthwhile. Take our French programme in Montreal!
Shahrokh Ebrahimi is a wonderful mature student from Iran participating in EC Montreal’s English for Work programme. This is his last week at EC Montreal. I really enjoyed the cooperative learning, talking and listening together. EC is a rich institute about learning with new material. I would definitely recommend EC to a friend. I made friends from Mexico, Taiwan, Dominican Republic, Brazil and South Korea. I liked the staff’s leadership abilities. I will always remember the friendly and cooperative small society.
