7. Shop ’till you drop!
Montreal is known for its shops; from high fashion to flea markets, there really is something for everyone! The underground has a string of shopping malls and we have outlet malls in the more residential areas of the city. In addition, during the summer months, the more popular streets become pedestrian friendly and are closed off to host sidewalk sales.
8. A piece of Italy in Montreal!
Montreal has a neighborhood called Little Italy. It comes to life during the summer months with the restaurant patios and gelato shops! For 10 days in August, Little Italy hosts Italian Week, with outdoor music performances, food vendors, fashion shows and an opera performance on the closing night.
9. On the water!
A boating company called AML offers different boating experiences from Spring to Fall. There are sightseeing cruises, dinner cruises and the more wild party boat experiences! There are even cruises that go from Montreal to Quebec City. We recommend our EC Montreal students take the cruise on the evening of the annual international firework exhibition that takes place on Wednesday and Saturday evenings during the summer months.
Montreal is known for its nightlife! Second to Las Vegas, Montreal hosts the most bachelor parties! There are many great places for EC Montreal students to frequent if they enjoy clubbing. There are many outdoor venues to enjoy during the summer months as well. A really great one is the Terrasse Bonsecour in Old Montreal. You can enjoy a view of the Saint Lawrence river while dancing the night away in a very trendy outdoor club!
