Montreal is expected to receive its first snowfall this week and our students are very excited! In keeping with our soulful November theme, we kicked off our November activities with a hot chocolate event!
We prepared thermoses of hot chocolate for every table in the student lounge. We also included a cup of miniature marshmallows, cookie straws and chocolate spoons! The student lounge smelled absolutely heavenly!
When the students ended their classes at 3 p.m. today, they headed towards the student lounge to see what was waiting for them. EC Montreal students quickly discover that at EC Montreal, every Wednesday, there is a complimentary activity in the student lounge to look forward to! They smiled from ear to ear when they saw the beautifully decorated tables. They waited patiently in line to get their cup filled to the rim with sweet, delicious cacao! They had fun with the different toppings and hung out chatting and enjoying the rest of their afternoon at EC. This is what we try to accomplish through our complimentary activities. It is creating opportunities for our students to interact with one another and build a strong sense of community at the school.
They enjoyed reading the chalk board signs on all the tables. We came up with some cute ones like “sweater weather”, “it’s cold outside”, “sweet”, “hot cup of love”, and “chocolat chaud”. This is how you say hot chocolate in French.
It was the perfect warm cup of goodness to enjoy on a cold November afternoon in Montreal! I am sure our students really appreciated warming up before heading outside. Some took a second cup for the road!
