Today’s complimentary activity at EC Montreal was Tea and Conversation. This fits in perfectly with our Soulful November themed calendar of events. As November is that month sandwiched between an eventful October with Halloween festivities and a joyful and celebratory December, we wanted November to be a very thoughtful and soothing month for our EC Montreal students. Every activity is about feeding the mind, body and soul.
The purpose of these complimentary activities is to create opportunities for our students to interact with one another, hang out, create a sense of community, practice their language skills and have fun!
It was a snowy day in Montreal so it was a perfect afternoon to enjoy a hot cup of tea in the student lounge. The Christmas displays are out in the city and with the snow covering the holiday lights, it feels so magical and peaceful.
Every table in the student lounge had a thermos filled with a different flavored tea. We had chamomile tea, maple tea, black cherry, wild berry zinger and lemon and ginger. We also had a tin of buttery tea biscuits at every table for the students to enjoy.
Tea has become very popular in this neighborhood around the EC Montreal location. There are several tea houses across the street and at the corner of Guy and Ste-Catherine Street. Even the most popular coffee shops like Starbucks, Tim Hortons and Second Cup, have a wonderful holiday tea menu to choose from. I tried the gingerbread chai tea from Tim Hortons yesterday and it was absolutely wonderful!
We cannot wait until next week to enjoy the last of our Soulful November activities! We will be decorating the EC Montreal Christmas tree in the student lounge. What a “feel good” event to enjoy with our EC Montreal students. We will play some holiday music and serve some festive refreshments. We will also have some crafts for the students to personalize their ornaments.
