Like any quintessential millennial, our students at EC Montreal can’t get enough of brunch. It’s not just our Gastronomy program students, it’s everyone!
Every weekend main streets and hidden corners of the city are invaded by hungry citizens looking to find a new delectable hidden treasure. Some even line-up for hours to have a meal in the trendiest of brunch spots with limited tables.
As our students progress in English or French, social interactions at the dinner table become a true skill to master and nailing down the right word becomes ever so important. Want your eggs sunny side up or over easy? Cottage or cream cheese with that? There’s nothing more exciting than using language learnt in the classroom to tailor your plate to your own liking.
Some of the best places in town include Beauty’s – an old luncheonette that’s been around since 1942 that will make you feel right at home or Gingko, a trendy tropical restaurant with lush vegetation that will be sure to brighten your day during a cold Montreal winter morning .
But what do you do if you don’t want to brave the cold but still want to get that classic Montreal brunch experience?
The answer is simple; gather your EC friends and brunch at home! Now what are the benefits? If you’re staying at one our residences, use the ample shared space to cook up some delicious brunches or make it a fun Sunday activity with your homestay family! If you don’t want to break the bank to enjoy a good brunch, just ask everyone to bring an item – with all the friends you’ll be making at EC, this shouldn’t be a problem! Either way, you’ll be practicing.
