At EC Montreal, random acts of kindness are common here. We want our EC Montreal students to know that by choosing EC, they chose to be part of a family! Creating an EC community is a priority at our school. We strive to make the student experience a personalized one. In order to accomplish this, we must get to know our students on a more social level. We do our best to remember all of our students’ names. This way, when we see them in the hallways or in the office, we can address them by their name. In addition, every Wednesday, the EC Montreal team hosts a complimentary activity for our students in the student lounge. With these activities we create opportunities for our students to interact with one another and make friends. The EC Montreal team participates as much as possible so we can get to know our students a little better. We want our students to see us as approachable and helpful.
One of the best ways we make our students feel special is by celebrating their Birthdays. We prepare a list of all the students celebrating their Birthdays every week and on their Birthday, as a team, we go to their classroom with a cupcake, a Birthday greeting and a lit candle. We all sing “Happy Birthday” or “Joyeuses Anniversaire” to the student and give them their cake. All the students in the class sing along and cheer on the Birthday boy or girl! We take their picture and later post in on social media so their friends and loved ones back home can see that they were celebrated on their special day.
Even if you are celebrating your Birthday on the weekend, the EC Montreal team will make sure to include the Birthday surprise on the Friday or Monday.
