It’s French Movie Time at EC Montreal!

Everyone is invited to attend our French movie sessions this week. Each month EC Montreal students enjoy the possibility of participating in a huge variety of different free activities in the afternoon. Besides watching French and English movies, students will also have the chance to gain special skills for work in our English/French for work clinic or train their oral comprehension on special lecture and pronunciation classes. The best thing is that all these activities are free for our students! All this is part of the Academic Year experience at EC Montreal! “Les Intouchables” – translated “The Untouchables”- is a French comedy-drama and an absolute must for French movie lovers. Released in 2011, the movie takes on a very particular topic: Philippe, a rich aristocrat and handicapped person since a sport accident, engages a caregiver to help with everyday life. The new employee, a young man with foreign roots and recently released from the prison, is the complete opposite as one would expect as an ideal caregiver.

Herzing College Presentation!

On Friday, March 14 at 1:30 the admissions manager from the Herzing College will give a presentation about the college, its programs and benefits for our students though the newly established partnership with EC Canada schools! This is a great opportunity for you to get useful information about how to attend a college in Canada and build a career in Accounting, Business Administration, Pharmacy Technical Assistance, Computing support, Network Administration, Computer Graphic Design and many more areas! Through the partnership EC students are exempt from providing the IELTS exam as an acceptance requirement if they have a certain level in English or French. Come check it out! Should you wish to get more contact time with the English language, remember that EC Montreal offers private lessons in English.

Ready, Steady, Shoot!

On Thursday, EC Montreal’s Upper Intermediate class will present their Art project which they have been working for several weeks. All students are invited to visit the exhibition which will take from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in rooms 11 and 13. The purpose of this project was to prepare a photo collection on various themes. Dasol Jung from Korea revealed that she had been working on the theme “Food” and therefore visited all kinds of different restaurants in order to take some great shots. All visitors are invited to vote for the collection they like the most! The Upper Intermediate class is already looking forward to welcoming as many visitors as possible!

This programme allows you to study English and/or French and work afterwards – anywhere in Canada. By participating in this programme, you will be able to learn two languages, practice these languages in real life situations and gain international work experience. Follow the Step-by-Step procedure to register for the co-op programme: Decide how many weeks you would like to study and work. Choose a date for your study-work experience: Please plan a while ahead, as it might take some time to get your permits. Register for the Co-Op programme at EC Montreal. Pay the fees: You will need to attach a Letter of Acceptance from the school to your Visa application. Submit your application for the Study and Work permit to Immigration Canada. Wait and be patient 🙂 Once your application has been approved you can get ready for your Canadian experience! Last Friday EC Montreal students had the chance to participate in a lecture about the Canadian Art Scene. Nathalie Quagliotto, a Toronto based conceptual artist, held this lecture and informed the students about different aspect of being an artist in Canada. After some brain-storming and information in-put, our students could directly ask questions to an expert in this field. Questions like “How artists make money in Canada”, or “Which Canadian Universities offer good art degree programs” were discussed.
