It’s French Movie Time at EC Montreal!

Everyone is invited to attend our French movie sessions this week. Each month EC Montreal students enjoy the possibility of participating in a huge variety of different free activities in the afternoon. Besides watching French and English movies, students will also have the chance to gain special skills for work in our English/French for work clinic or train their oral comprehension on special lecture and pronunciation classes. The best thing is that all these activities are free for our students! All this is part of the Academic Year experience at EC Montreal! “Les Intouchables” – translated “The Untouchables”- is a French comedy-drama and an absolute must for French movie lovers. Released in 2011, the movie takes on a very particular topic: Philippe, a rich aristocrat and handicapped person since a sport accident, engages a caregiver to help with everyday life. The new employee, a young man with foreign roots and recently released from the prison, is the complete opposite as one would expect as an ideal caregiver.

Présentation du Collège Herzing – An Opportunity Not to be Missed!

On Friday, April 11 at 1:30 a representative from the Herzing College will come to EC Montreal to give a presentation about the college, its programs and benefits for our students though the newly established partnership with EC! The presentation will be held in French. This is a great opportunity for you to get useful information about how to attend a college in Canada and build a career in Accounting, Business Administration, Pharmacy Technical Assistance, Computing support, Network Administration, Computer Graphic Design and many more! Through the partnership EC students are exempt from providing the IELTS exam as an acceptance requirement if they have a certain level in English or French. Come check it out!

WALL-E It’s Time for a Movie at EC Montreal!

“The year is 2700 and planet Earth is unhabitable. For hundreds of years a robot called WALL-E has been taking out the trash and trying to clean up Earth. WALL-E doesn’t realize that he has found the key to saving the planet.” Come and watch this movie with your classmates and practice your listening, note-taking, writing and speaking. The movie will be shown three times at EC Montreal this week: on Tuesday, March 18 at 1:30, Wednesday, March 19 at 1:30 and 3:15. The round table discussion about the movie will take place on Friday, March 21 in room 8. If  you are looking for a great opportunity to practice your listening, vocabulary and speaking skills, participating in the movie activity and the round table discussion afterwards is highly recommended!

Do you want to focus on your pronunciation in English or French? Come participate in our pronunciation clinics! On Friday, March 21, EC students have the chance to work with one of our teachers on their French pronunciation. This special lesson on Friday afternoon  is one of many free activities offered at EC Montreal. If you plan to study FSL Abroad at EC Montreal, you will be able to practice French and English through participating in the free afternoon academic activities. Ready, Steady, Shoot Art Project – A Great Success!

The Art Exposition organized by the Upper Intermediate class was a great success! Four teams presented their work on a selected theme. Many students and staff came to visit the exposition and voted for their favorite gallery and picture. The great winners were Youjin from Korea and Juan Camilo from Colombia, who succeeded to convince the public with their photos! EC Montreal English School’s teacher, Souha, was very proud of the great work all the groups have done!

Ready, Steady, Shoot!

On Thursday, EC Montreal’s Upper Intermediate class will present their Art project which they have been working for several weeks. All students are invited to visit the exhibition which will take from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in rooms 11 and 13. The purpose of this project was to prepare a photo collection on various themes. Dasol Jung from Korea revealed that she had been working on the theme “Food” and therefore visited all kinds of different restaurants in order to take some great shots. All visitors are invited to vote for the collection they like the most! The Upper Intermediate class is already looking forward to welcoming as many visitors as possible!
