Meet your new activity leader, Emily!

Sharing is caring!

My name is Emily, and I am a new activity leader at EC New York. I am a native New Yorker, and am absolutely in love with the city. Even though I grew up here, there is always a new area to explore or a unique new event to check out. My favorite neighborhoods are the Lower East Side, West Village, and Park Slope (Brooklyn). What makes New York special is that you can walk five blocks in Manhattan and hear at least three different languages, find at least three different nationalities of cuisine, and spot old buildings next to newer, more modern structures. Not to mention the beautiful and relaxing parks!
Three of my interests are traveling, foreign languages, and food- which are all connected. I love traveling to interesting places and trying local cuisines and attempting to speak the native language of where I’m visiting. One of my favorite things to do during my free time is long-distance walking and urban hiking. I simply follow my feet and take a unique route every time. I can walk up to 8 miles at a time!
Two fun facts about me:
I thoroughly enjoy eating everything in the world and will try any food – except for olives. Yuck!
I speak French, Spanish, and Hebrew, and I am currently learning Mandarin.
My hidden talent is that I can say any word or sentence backwards. Try me!
