At this time of year, apple picking is a very popular weekend activity for both New Yorkers and tourists.  Although there are no apple orchards in the city, there are several farms that are quite close to Manhattan.  Here are some of our top picks of farms for apple picking and celebrating the fall harvest season that are less than an hour away from the city.

Features: apple picking, hayrides, corn maze.

Harvest Moon Orchards– North Salem

Features: apple picking, hayrides, farm animals, and live music.  Also there is a farm stand where you can buy baked goods and fresh product as well.

Features: apple picking, hayrides, pumpkin picking, and Christmas trees.

The Orchards of Concklin – Pomona
