I’m from Seoul, South Korea.
Why are you learning English?
First, I really like learning languages. Second, when we find and get a job, English is important in Korea. I’m a senior in my university, so when I go back to Korea, I have to get a job. That’s why I decided to come here at this time.
What do you like most about EC?
As you know, EC’s color is orange. Like the color orange, EC is a very active and fresh school. The facilities are updated, clean and convenient. In addition, EC itself makes me more active and pleasant. There are a lot of awesome people at EC, such as gorgeous teachers, friendly staff, and lovely friends. Furthermore, you can participate and enjoy many activities at EC. In these activities, you might be able to meet some new friends and have a great time!
What do you like most about living in NYC?
To be honest, I have dreamed about leaving in NYC since I was a child. Now, I am having a great time here. Especially, I like traveling all over the world and NYC is the most interesting, enjoyable and exciting place to travel. There are a lot of museums, fancy restaurants, and outstanding people in NYC. You are able to go to Central Park every day. You might enjoy watching people in Times Square. There is everything you could enjoy in NYC!
Where is your favorite place in NYC?
My favorite place in NYC is Roosevelt Island. I am crazy about seeing night views anywhere, and Roosevelt Island is the most appropriate place to see a beautiful and picturesque scene in NYC. We can take a tram from Lexington Ave to go there, or take the F train to get off there. If you love seeing night views, I am sure you would like to be in Roosevelt Island.

What is your favorite food?
Actually, this is a very difficult question to answer, because I like food- I love food! However, if I have to choose one thing, my favorite food is Tteokbokki. Tteokbokki is a traditional Korean food and is very popular in Korea. It is made from soft rice cake, fish cake and sweet red chili sauce. I am able to cook this one, so I can eat it anytime I want!
Do you have any hidden talents/skills?
When I was 4 years old, I started to learn to play piano. Actually, I wanted to be a pianist and I was talented at that time, so I practiced a lot and participated in piano competitions and won the prize. However, I realized that being a pianist requires a lot of money when I was 10 years old. I did not want to be a burden for my family, because it needed not only a lot of money, but also so many sacrifices from my family. That is why I just gave up my little dream. But even now, playing piano is one of my favorite hobbies. Maybe I will play piano as long as I can.
What languages do you speak?
Actually, I have learned not only English, but also Chinese, Japanese, and French. However, I almost forgot them all except for English, honestly. Although I already forgot many words in these languages, I will study these languages again someday. My dream is to speak five languages- English, Chinese, Japanese, French, and Spanish in my life. It is on my bucket list. That is why I have learned these languages. If I try to study again, it will be relatively easier than before. Therefore, if you guys who speak these languages see me, please talk to me and please teach me any words! I will teach you Korean, too!
