Kevin Rossel from Switzerland started studying at EC New York in December, beginning at a pre-intermediate level. During his five month study, he increased four levels, and even took our Cambridge Exam preparatory course. That’s a HUGE accomplishment! Additionally, Kevin was a Student Ambassador, both leading and participating in several activities. Here is Kevin’s EC experience:
When did you start at EC?
December 29th, 2014. Total 5 months at EC New York.
Why are you learning English?
For my job. It’s useful for my job, it’s useful for traveling, and it’s useful for everything.
What do you do in Switzerland?
I am a watchmaker. I make pieces for watches.
Why did you choose EC?
I chose EC because I went to my agency and they told me that EC is a really good school.
Why did you decide to study EC’s New York location?
Because it’s New York! Everyone wants to live in New York.
What did you like most about EC?
Really good teachers, nice classrooms, a lot of different activities.

What did you like most about living in NYC?
You can find something to do whenever you want. It’s really the city that doesn’t sleep.
What advice would you offer to someone starting at EC?
To take advantage of the teachers and the staff. Ask for advice. And the activities- participate because you can meet a lot of people from different countries.
What is your favorite place in New York City?
Central Park and I really love 1 World Trade Center, the memorial.
Fun facts about Kevin:
I have a dog named Gibs, but I haven’t met him yet because my parents got him while I was here.
