Eliete shares her experience while learning English in New York

Why are you learning English?
I am learning English to keep in touch with the idiom, add more words in my repertory and to not forget what I already had learned.

Why did you choose to study at EC?
I chose EC first because the “CI” Brazil’s agency had a good recommendations about it and second because in EC is the student who will decide for how many weeks they want to study, if the classes will be full time or part time.

Why did you decide to study English in New York City?
I decided to study English in New York City because it is the most cosmopolitan city I ever known, with a vibrant cultural environment and well prepared to receive students and tourists.

What did you like most about your EC experience?
In my EC experience what I most liked was the friendly and helpful schools staff. The Classes were full of interesting activities in a way that I never got tired. The school has the option to study part time what I did and for this reason I had half of the day free to enjoy the city. I want to say thanks to Michelle and Drew for being amazing and creative teachers. And I want to say thanks to Bindu who interviewed me in my first day in the school and made me feel more confident.

What did you like most about living in New York City?
About living in NYC, what I most liked was the variety of places to visit like museums, squares, libraries, parks and good restaurants which I could get by subway.

Share a highlight of specific memorable experience:
Every day I had a plan, like a place to visit, before or after classes. In a sunny day I took the free ferry to Staten Island, and the view was amazing. Another day I visited the Cloister Museum and on the way to get there, I could appreciate an impressive view of the Hudson River that took my breath away. I recommend Take risks, take the subway, keep a good cell phone with internet 4G and Google Maps. You should always have a plan, like a list of places you would like to visit or something to accomplish during your staying in NYC. I am sure you will love it!
