In this post, Kanako Kihara from Japan shares her experiences studying English in New York.

In addition, she likes traveling around the world. If she improves her English, she can believes she’ll enjoy travelling more. She also hopes to live in a foreign country in the future, so English will be really important for her future. Compared to her hometown of Tokyo, Kanako thinks that New York is quite similar. Both cities are big and busy, and that’s what she likes. Plus, the transportation is pretty easy to get around, so she can go anywhere she wants with the transportation. Also, being in New York, Kanako thinks that New Yorkers speak English so fast. She thinks that it is good for her to improve her listening skills being around so many native speakers!

Kanako is also having a great time at school here in New York. She especially loves the students, teachers, and staff because they are so friendly. According to Kanako, she can easily make friends from all over the world. This is an experience that she wouldn’t have been able to have if she stayed in japan. She also loves that in New York, you can learn about different cultures through the various foods and restaurants that exist. Kanako recommends trying new foreign restaurants whenever you can!
