It is Homecoming Weekend at SUNY Oswego, so there are a TON of fun events happening all weekend!

A lot of sporting events, and student-alumni games!

Global Awareness Conference

What: This conference, themed “The Muslim Experience,” gives students, faculty, staff and members of the community an opportunity to learn about other cultures and global issues

Global Awareness Conference

When: 10:00am-8:00pm

Where: Hart Hall

What: This conference, themed “The Muslim Experience,” gives students, faculty, staff and members of the community an opportunity to learn about other cultures and global issues. Many presentations occur throughout the day including keynote speaker Bassam Tariq, a TED speaker, awarded documentary filmmaker and a halal butcher in New York City.

Global Awareness Conference Speaker: Bassam Tariq

When: 7:00-8:30pm

Where: Room 132, Marano Campus Center

What: Keynote speaker Bassam Tariq is a TED speaker, awarded documentary filmmaker and a halal butcher in New York City. Tariq will talk about social entrepreneurship, overcoming stereotypes and what it’s like to be a Muslim in America today

Sunday, November 6

Concert: College Choir/Stage Singers

When: 3:00-4:30pm

Where: Waterman Theater, Tyler Hall

What: The College Choir and State Singers will perform

 

Open Skate

When: 6:00-8:30pm

Where: Marano Campus Center Arena

What: $3 ($1 for SUNY Oswego students, faculty and staff with ID). $3 for skate rental

 

Planetarium Show: “Astronomical Subjects in the Works of Shakespeare, Tolstoy, and Mark Twain”

When: 7:00-8:00pm

Where: Room 223, Shineman Center

What: John Zielinski of SUNY Oswego’s physics department will briefly discuss astronomical topics that are mentioned in Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” and “Julius Caesar,” Tolstoy’s “War and Peace” and Mark Twain’s “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court.” Telescope viewing to follow, weather permitting. Limited seating: first-come, first-served

 

EC Oswego offers an English for Academic Purposes curriculum.
