On Sunday, October 19th, EC San Diego participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. The event took place in Balboa Park, as over 611 teams and 6,056 participants walked four miles around the neighborhoods surrounding downtown San Diego. This event allowed San Diegans to unite as a community and raise awareness and money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease with breast cancer research. There were 24 members (including Teacher Barbara’s two dogs) who represented team ECSD. Overall, a total of $746, 648.39 was raised in San Diego alone! We can only imagine how much money was raised across the entire U.S.!

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. and sadly, 1 in 8 will be diagnosed within their lifetime. EC is happy to support such an important cause. We will continue fighting against this life threatening disease. Thank you to all the staff members, teachers, and friends who came out to support.
