“He painted for the people. She painted to survive” – AGO
This month, the Art Gallery of Ontario is hosting a Frida Kahlo and Diego de Rivera exhibition, which will take place from October 20, 2012 to January 20, 2013. The exhibition features more than 80 works on paper and paintings by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera and more than 60 photographs of the couple.
The muralist Diego Rivera and the painter Frida Kahlo are the most famous Mexican artists, due to the passion they shared for Mexico’s revolutionary culture during the 1920s and 1930s. In their paintings, both Frida and Diego reflect the dramatic story of their lives together and their artistic commitment to the transformative political and cultural values of post-revolutionary Mexico.
Do not miss the opportunity to go to the AGO and learn more about these famous painters and their Mexican art. If you want to get more information about this great exhibition, visit the page on http://www.ago.net/frida-diego-passion-politics-and-painting.
