During the summer months in Toronto, it’s nice to cool down with a cup or cone of your favourite ice cream.  We’ve compiled a list of our favourite ice cream spots in the city.  Each place offers something unique for you to enjoy during our summer heatwave.

Bang Bang Ice Cream and Bakery

93a Ossington Avenue

When you pass by this ice cream joint, you’ll often see line ups out the door.  If you’re craving an ice cream sandwich, Bang Bang won’t disappoint.  You choose an ice cream flavor to be wedged between one or two cookies.  The result is one of the best ice cream sandwiches you’ll ever have.  Half a sandwich (one cookie) is $4.50; a full sandwich (two full cookies) will run you $7.

Carter’s Ice Cream

3 Woodmount Avenue

If you’re looking for a range of ice cream flavours and tons of delicious toppings, Carter’s Ice Cream is the place to go.  Carter’s sells Kawartha Dairy Ice cream and looks like an old fashioned ice cream parlour.

Dessert Lady Café

12 Cumberland Street

If you’re looking for a dairy-free, vegan option, check out Desert Lady Café.  The popular Yorkville Ice Cream destination offers up to 18 flavours that they rotate on a weekly basis.  Each flavour is made with all-natural ingredients and the sorbets don’t contain any eggs, dairy, or gluten.

Dutch Dreams

78 Vaughan Road

If you’re in the mood for homemade waffle cones and ice cream, try Dutch Dreams.  This eclectically-decorated ice cream shop is family owned and has been in Toronto for almost 30 years.  The 40 ice cream flavors are rotated frequently and the toppings are endless.

Enjoy!
