Welcome Irene to EC Vancouver!

Hi! My name is Irene. I’m from Spain, from a small region called La Rioja which is very famous for its wine. If you are going to visit Spain someday, you must go to La Rioja, you are going love it. I’m 25 years old. I’m studying two degrees at the same time, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The first one is Audiovisual Communication and the other is Socio-cultural Coordinator. In my free time I like to listen to music and go to the movies. I’m going to stay in Vancouver for 3 months. I’m here as a student, but also as a practicant. I applied for a co-op program in the school. I’m here to help all the staff of EC Vancouver and to study English at the same time. I’m also writing a blog about my experiences in Vancouver and to guide other Spanish people who want to come to Vancouver to study, so feel free to take a look if you want. This summer, I am expecting to improve my English while having new experiences in a different country. It’s a great opportunity for me to learn about a new country and its culture. It’s also a new challenge for me. You can find me in the front desk next to Michelle and Alejandra, so came to say hello wherever you want.

An interview with William – A trip to the Rocky Mountains!

When did you go? The (Canada Day) long weekend I had 3.5 days of fun in Rockie Mountains. Probably I’ll never forget how beautiful is that place it was just a perfect opportunity to make friends. What did you do there? I signed to some interesting activities like canoeing in a beautiful lake, sightseeing tour in a glacier and for me this is the kind of special activity because we don’t have snow in Brazil, and also hanging out with friend in pubs. The guides prepared a campfire and we banked some marshmallows and a Brazilian friend played guitar exactly like in the brochure in the travel agency LOL!!! What was your favourite thing about that day? No doubts about this topic… the answer is the people that I met but if have to choose a place to talk about it would be the magnificent Lake Louise, it was breathtaking and all my friends from Brazil got interested to know which place is that with this amazingly beautiful blue water! Who did you go with? Lots of students from EC School, different schools and dozens of different nationalities! For example Marina (Brazil), Ramona (Switzerland), Ali (Saudi Arabia), Geraldo (Mexico) and many other great people! Are you going to go again? / Would you recommend this activity to other students? I strongly recommend this travel, if you have the opportunity do not hesitate just go! Mainly if you live in a tropical country like me it’s the perfect opportunity to see some snow. Do you want to say anything about the photos? I don’t think I need to say nothing the pictures can talk for themselves! A big THANK YOU to William for sharing his experience with us!
