I’ve had the fortunate opportunity to be a part of the EC Vancouver staff for the last year. Working at the front desk has given me the opportunity to develop useful skills, meet a lot of people from around the world and develop meaningful friendships with the EC staff and students.
Today is my last day at EC Vancouver and though I am sad to say goodbye I am looking forward to new opportunities I will be undertaking in Uganda, East-Africa. It seems fitting that on my last day here, a freak snowstorm, a true rarity for Vancouver, has rolled in as tomorrow I’m on a flight back to blistery Ottawa, -30, and significant snow to say the least.
Of the jobs I have had I can say without a doubt that working at EC has been one of the best experiences I’ve had. In a time when corporations are synonymous with cutbacks and harsher working conditions, EC constantly strives to create a great atmosphere.
Tomorrow I start a new chapter testing the waters of full time entrepreneurship. The lessons I have learned working at EC are already starting to help shape my future.
To the EC Vancouver staff, thank you for a great year. A special thanks to Ingmar, our Centre Director – few possess the leadership qualities our director does.
