Azumi Miyake from Japan shares her EC experience!

Azumi Miyake from Japan shares her experience while attending the General English courses at EC Vancouver. Hi there! My nameis Azumi Miyake from Fukuoka in Japan. I’d like to talk about EC and my life in Canada. I studied at EC Vancouver for 1month in last August. It was a great time. I met many amazing friends from other countries. Also, there were many students from many countries. So I leaned about other countries’ cultures, foods, people… and so on. That’s why I came back to Vancouver again! Fortunately, I was chosen as an ambassador after I came back here again. Ambassadors are chosen from any countries’ students. And we organize some activities for students. Also, I can get opportunities to speak in front of many people. It’s really good for improving my English and experience. Thank you for giving me such a good experience!  I will never forget the memories I made here. I would like to come back here again. Thank you. ==== Come to EC Vancouver English Centre and learn how to speak in English! You will have a great time while taking English Courses in Vancouver!!

Ting Lei from Taiwan: “My life in Vancouver”

Ting Lei from Taiwan shares his experience while attending the General English courses (Intermediate) at EC Vancouver. I arrived in Vancouver on September 19th. It’s one of the best times in my life. I am now studying English at EC Vancouver. I don’t dare say that I am a very good student, but I’m really trying my best to amend some bad habits of studying. And I’m really happy that I have this chance to focus on studying. I made lots of friends here. They come from different countries e.g. Japan, Korea, Brazil, and Libya. I like my friends that I met here very much. They are all out-going and funny. Even somebody who is usually quiet, doesn’t refuse to talk to us. Almost all of my classmates or friends are younger than me. I always can see hope and light from them because they have good future which is arriving, they have time and they can find their dream. Then I see myself, it seems a little bit darker. Sometimes I really envy them. Despite this, I’ve had a good time in Vancouver. I have already been to White Rock, Granville Island, Garibaldi Lake, Bowen, Whistler, and Deep Cove. All these places are very beautiful, they all have different scenery. I think the most beautiful scenery is in Garibaldi Lake so far. I also joined Polar Bear to jump into the English Bay Beach. It was an exciting and shocking experience. I am going to Yellow Knife to see the aurora. I have less than two months here, but I think it will be as same as before, interesting and exciting. It’s really a good thing that I could come to Vancouver. ====== Join for an English Course in Vancouver to learn how to speak with confidence! Hyukjoon Kwon from Korea shares his EC experience!

Hyukjoon Kwon from Korea shares his experience while attending the General English (High-Intermediate) courses at EC Vancouver. Hello everyone!! My name is Hyuk Joon Kwon, as known as Joon, from Seoul in Korea. I would like to tell you my story in Vancouver. I have had a lot of wonderful experiences here. When I arrived in Vancouver, I found that I liked everything here because the weather of summer is the best in the world and there are lots of sightseeing places. However, my English ability was one of the things that I was worried about because I lacked courage and didn’t have any experiences of meeting international people. Actually, I have many friends who are from various countries. I got along with them many times and went to take trips. Even though they went back to their own countries, I have kept in touch with them. As a result, I have changed my mind, above all, which means I have got confidence when I meet foreigners. I was inspired by this sentence: “Practice makes perfect.” That’s why I have been writing a diary every day, of course, in English. If you also do something steadily, you will be better than before. Lastly, when I look back my life in Vancouver, it was such a great time that I chose EC Vancouver because everyone in the school is really kind and they helped me to use only English while I was at the school. I would like to recommend this school for anyone hasn’t chosen a school in Vancouver. ==== Would you like to learn to speak English in Vancouver like Hyukjoon? Rebeka Coelho De Almeida Alves shares her EC experience!!

Rebeka Coelho De Almeida Alves from Brazil shares her experience while attending the Higher Score® TOEFL course at EC Vancouver. First of all, I’d like to thank my mom for this great exchange. Coming to Canada wasn’t my first choice, but turned out to be the best one because of my friend Manu, who came here two years ago and was at the same home-stay (The best host family ever! Thank you for everything Foleys, and sorry about anything that might have happened). Personally speaking, I don’t like the cold weather so much but I wanted to see snow at least once in my life and if you are like me, I advise you to come to Vancouver, which has the “warmest” Winter in Canada (If you wonder about going to Rio de Janeiro, you should know that here is the Canadian Rio). About experiences, I can tell you that after six fast months here, I opened my mind and turned myself more to enculturation and also became resilient to change. EC had some importance in my way of life here and made my personal changes more comfortable at this time. I have friends from other ESL schools and I’ve had chances to go into some of these and exchange some experiences about how they teach their students and I suppose that EC has the best infrastructure and also the best team. I took lessons with a plenty of teachers at EC and all of them are very helpful and make classes a good place to make friends, improve our English and to make us comfortable as if we were in our hometown. In addition, everyone here has a special place in my heart and will stay in my mind for a really long time, since Sawako at the front desk, … Read more

Diana Ojeda from Colombia shares her EC experience!

Diana Ojeda from Colombia shares her experience while attending the General English courses at  EC Vancouver. My name is Diana, I am from Colombia. The idea to travel abroad was quite sudden; I did not have any idea that I would ever go abroad to study English. When I finished my high school, I was looking forward to entering the University, and in order to do so I had to take an entrance exam. I took the exam and fortunately I did not manage to get in that university. Yes, I said ‘’fortunately’’ because it turned out that if I had not had failed that exam I would have never traveled overseas and either have had the most priceless experience in this marvelous city, Vancouver. The better you get to know this city and its citizens, the deeper you fall in love with it. Vancouver is just such a fascinating city, although it rains continuously, you are able to go to charming beaches, soak up the atmosphere and be a witness of a spectacular dawn in the summer, and in the winter, you can go to snow-capped mountains where you can just sit down and delight with the tranquil and soundless air. Even though Vancouver’s spectacular natural settings are beyond description, there is something else that makes it a unique city, its multiculturalism. I am afraid to say that living in Vancouver is to live in a unpredictable life. I have met incredible people from totally different countries, cultures, religions, languages and personalities. In fact, I have a large list of friends I would love to look up when I visit their countries. I got to know EC Vancouver through my agent who ensured me that it was the best school in Vancouver. And it turned out that he was … Read more
