Things to do in Vancouver in Feb #5: Winterruption Festival on Granville Island

One decade ago, the first ever Winterruption Festival took place on Granville Island. This year’s 10th edition of the festival allows Vancouverites and visitors to escape from the winter blues for three days, from Feb 22nd to 24th, by celebrating both local and international artists of all disciplines.

Some of the highlights this year are the largest outdoor mural ever created by Brazilian artist OSGEMEOS on Ocean Concrete’s six gigantic silos, the intriguing story of the afore mentioned and other remarkable artists in the documentary “Grey City”, and smooth Brazilian vibes brought by Coastal Jazz and many other special guests and DJs.

The Sustainable Seafood Market Dinner will surely sell out – be quick and get your ticket early. For all booze enthusiasts, the Meet Your Makers Tour will satisfy your taste senses by offering local beers, sake and spirits, all of which are produced on Granville Island.
