Patricia is a Brazilian student who graduated from EC this year. Here is her story: Studying at EC It was amazing!! The classes at EC were totally different from what we have here in Brazil, the school seeks to work on all language skills: writing, reading, listening and speaking. The teachers are very good and the classes are dynamic. The most enriching aspect is the exchange of knowledge and integration with other cultures that take the conversations, contents and learning to an incredible level. I had the opportunity to meet people from different countries, including Mexico, Switzerland, France, Colombia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Turkey. Each one had their peculiarities and all of them were very special! Studying abroad had always been a dream for me, and after much planning I chose Canada as my destination. I am very grateful; I believe that it was the right choice. The experience is never exactly as we expect – I’d say it’s always more. Being there and learning about a new culture, new people, incredible places, food and unforgettable experiences, made me feel excited and happy. Looking back, we realize that we changed a lot. Only one month has made us evolve a lot as people. We were challenged, and we felt anxiety, fear, joy, and curiosity. All of that is incredible! I have to thank the EC team for all of the support in the realization of this dream! More than ever, I want to go again, and explore new places. I am already starting to plan my next study abroad. Thanks for everything, EC Vancouver!! ====== Do you want to learn English in Canada? EC offers English courses in Vancouver!
Isa is a Brazilian Student who graduated from EC this year. Here is her story: Studying at EC My experience was amazing! The EC staff are very friendly always looking to help. My teachers Tracy and Simon also were really good! Sometimes classes were a little hard but I think that this is good. I also met new and interesting people in my classes. People were different but really nice. I will miss everybody very much and I hope to come back some day soon. Thank you very much! Advice for Brazilian students You have to enjoy your trip. Have to understand that this is a kind of experience that many people will not have, so you are very lucky! Vancouver is a multicultural city, so you have to be open minded and ready to respect new cultures. Not every moment will be perfect. Sometimes it can be difficult. It’s a new country, so sometimes you may feel alone, but that’s totally normal. If you stay in a homestay, that can also be difficult sometimes. It isn’t your house and many things can be different. Again, that’s totally fine. My homestay was different, but amazing. Finally enjoy all of the trips parties, but don’t forget your homework. Remember, studying English is the first priority.Oh, and if your first trip is to a cold place and you are from the hot part of Brazil, maybe it will be better if you choose to go in the summer time. ====== Do you want to learn English in Canada? Anne-Laure is a French Student who graduated from EC this year. Here is her story: Studying at EC Studying at EC was a great experience. The school, class and courses were well organized. I enjoyed the small classes (maximum 15 students), because of which I was able to speak and participate easily. Depending on the class, we studied and reviewed everything: grammar, vocabulary, speaking, writing, etc. There was enough homework to keep a good rhythm in reviewing and studying, but not too much, because that would have been annoying. It was also a great experience to meet people from all around the world. That was very valuable!! Everybody was very open minded, and happy to be here to have fun and improve their English. The teachers were highly involved in what they were teaching and the staff were super helpful, available, welcoming and understanding. Studying at EC was very helpful, and I enjoyed the classes, which were never boring. The people I will remember the most are my classmates, the teachers and the staff. Caroline is a German Student who graduated from EC This year. Here is her story: Studying at EC: My time at EC Vancouver was awesome! I did a 12 week preparation course for the Cambridge Advanced Exam. Thanks to that I was in a class with the same people for the whole time, which was reaaally great! We were about 13 students, ages between 18 and 25, and we had two teachers. Most of the students came from Switzerland (the German part), and there was one German (me), one Swedish students and another from Spain. It was often hard to not speak in German, but our teachers, Nickola and Hillary, were very strict about that. They were fantastic teachers! We had a lot of fun with them in class and we learned a lot in those 12 weeks. They prepared us for the exam, and they also talked with us about Canada, so we could learn more about the country we were in for 3 months. The school is modern and well-designed. Besides modern classrooms, there is free wifi, cosy couches for the breaks, a library and space for the breaks, which had microwaves, water boilers and vending machines with candy and drinks. The location is perfect – in the middle of downtown, right beside a sky train station and just a 5 minute walk away from harbor (nice spot for lunch in the sun). They also have very good staff, who are helpful and friendly. And a very important point for English beginners: every member of staff is able to speak a foreign language, besides English, so when you have a problem and you can’t communicate in English, the likelihood that there’s a member with skills in your mother language is very high. So all in all, my stay …

Advice for Swiss Students My advice for Swiss students who will study at EC in the future: Be aware that there probably will be many other Swiss students. But don’t hesitate to come to Vancouver, the city is so multicultural and you can meet many international people there. ====== Do you want to learn English in Canada?
