Isabel is a Swiss student who graduated from EC this year. Here is her story: Friends made at EC I met a lot of new people at the EC Vancouver. It was very interesting to get to know people from other countries and to see how they live there. I think it was easy for all of us to connect with other students because everybody was here alone and then you’re not so shy to talk to other people. All of the people I met were friendly and we had always fun! We did many things together. We went on trips to Whistler, Victoria and Tofino. Or we did activities like shopping and hiking. There was always something to do and to discover. At the end of my stay I had friends from all over the world. I shared many moments with them and I’ll never forget because they made my stay uniquely. Isadora is a Brazilian student who graduated from EC this year. Here is her story: Studying at EC Hello, my name is Isadora Conde I’m from São Paulo, Brazil, and in December of 2015 I arrived at the best place in the world. I couldn’t have imagined that I would love Vancouver and EC as much as I did. I lived there for two months and did an intensive course in EC. It was the best choice I made, because all of the classes are very dynamic and the teachers give us the opportunity to develop our English by discussing things we like, not to mention mention the people who work in EC. Everyone there is really nice, and the teachers are amazing and very helpful with everything you want. They became my friends, and I’m going keep their memory with me for the rest of my life. I was also able to make a lot of friends from around the world. I improved my English a lot through the classes and the extra classes that EC offered us. The best thing I did was to choose EC for this experience, they helped me with everything I needed to know about my classes or about Vancouver. I am very thankful to EC for everything they have done for me. Advice for Brazilian students Don’t think twice. Vancouver is the best place I have ever visited. The people are very receptive and friendly. And the weather is the last thing you should worry about. Pablo is a Colombian student who graduated from EC this year. Here is his story: Trips and Activities Enjoyed in Canada My first trip in Vancouver was with a friend from my city and his roommates. We went to Lynn Canyon, and it was a really cool place because its landscape and the cliff jumping! After that day, I went again 3 or 4 more times with a Brazilian friend, just for the cliff jumping. I also enjoyed a lot of shopping, I really love going shopping. It was really good for me because it’s how I started to get better with my speaking. Going to whistler and Geoffrey Lake was amazing, but I think that what really made those trips special was the people that I went with. Simon is a Swiss student who graduated from EC this year. Here is his story: Friends Made in Canada The advantage of studying in a language school is the opportunity that we have to get to know people who come from other cultures. Life is great and going to school every day with a big smile allows you to easily meet new friends. It’s such an important thing to be curious to meet new people. Not only to learn about other people, but also to learn about yourself. I definitely met a few Swiss people, but I spent many special moments with South Korean people, as well as Brazilian andColumbian friends. All of those people were so generous, lovely and funny. We always have a lot of respect for each other even though we came from different countries. All of the moments we shared at school, while travelling around Vancouver Island or at parties in Vancouver, definitely helped us build strong and real friendships. The difficult part is still to keep in touch with other people as soon as we are back in our country. In November, two of my Korean friends will come in Switzerland and I’ve already planned to fly to Brazil next winter. Life is too short to be boring! I thank every people I met for their beautiful personalities. Thank you to EC as well. The people at front desk were really nice to everybody. I really appreciated it 🙂

I made other friends who are from French part of Switzerland too! We hung out at many different places. On one Sunday, we made pancakes in their residence. Vanessa is a Brazilian student who graduated from EC this year. Here is her story: Friends Made in Canada My stay in Vancouver was my third time studying abroad. In each of those experiences, I discovered that the best thing is meeting people and making friends. My closest friends in Vancouver were the people I met during my first day at school. Of course, we meet lots of new people every day. We make friends in class, at parties, at home… everywhere! But for me, the experience of a first day in a city where you don’t know anyone, and the opportunity to get to know people in the same situation and with the same goals, from all around the world, is what brings people together. I made lots of friends from Italy, Iran, Switzerland, France, Brazil, Japan, Germany, Mexico and many other places. We were together every day for one month and I still talk to them regularly. It really was a great experience. Advice for Brazilian Students Just be open to getting to know people from everywhere, with different cultures, social status and experiences.
