Hello My name is Hana Inoue from Japan and I want to talk a little bit about my experience studying at EC Vancouver. Every member of EC staff is very friendly. They always help us! I have met many friends in EC. My English is improving because I try to talk to them in English. There are people from a lot of countries, from all over the world. They are super kind. I make friends as soon as I talk to them. They celebrated my birthday with me in a traditional way and I had a great time. I love learning and using everybody’s name because their names are from other countries and they can sometimes be difficult for me but practice makes perfect. We teach and correct each other which really helps us to improve. I try to make conversations with many friends and we go for lunch after the school. We also enjoy going to many touristic places in Vancouver. I am enjoying a super great school life in EC. Hana Inoue – Japan Planning to come to Canada to study English? My experience in Vancouver has been awesome; since I arrived it has been perfect! I have met many people from different countries who are now are my friends, and I have been able to visit different places around British Columbia and Alberta like Victoria, Hope, Tofino and Banff. Also I can improve my English with an incredible process in EC because when I arrived six month ago I couldn`t speak, read or write anything! I consider my progress very successful. My plan for the future is to start studying at University and at the same time work in Vancouver. —– Planning to come to Canada to improve your English skills? Mabel was in Mexico three months ago when she decided to take a flight to Vancouver to learn English in Canada. Here is what he thinks about our English courses in Vancouver and her experience in Canada. I chose to study with EC English because of the system that they use, it seems to be the best one in order to get a high score in IELTS. There’s no other option where I can find any Higher Score system for IELTS preparation. There are many things that I liked about the teachers in EC but I would say that they are very friendly, because they are available to help every student at any time. Besides, EC teachers are very creative because they’re always looking for new ways to teach, giving us additional material to improve our English skills. My best memories of EC are the great times when I met friends from all over the world, these people are going to be my friends forever because we shared incredible moments discovering Vancouver together. We went to Grouse Mountain, Lynn Canyon Park, Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve, Pacific Regional Park, and Burnaby Lake. In these places you can find peace and you will get in touch with nature. They’re great options for someone who loves hiking. On the other hand, if you are not interested in hiking but you really enjoy spending time in nature then I’m pretty sure that you will have an awesome time in Deep Cove, Stanley Park, Granville Island or the city of Victoria. You will find that there’s not enough time to discover all the beautiful places that Vancouver has for you because it’s a big city. To make the experience more enjoyable you will find polite people on the streets and you will not have to …
Jose Luis flew all the way from Mexico to study English in EC Vancouver. Here you can find the reasons why he came to EC and what he thinks after two months studying here. Do you need to find more reasons to learn English in EC Vancouver? “I chose EC because some friends gave me a good recommendation about the school. EC has a good reputation. After two months learning English in EC Vancouver, I can say that their teachers are great, their character motivates me a lot, and the fact that they are always willing to explain anything that you need, not only homework. I will always remember the mix of nationalities that we had in class, so many different cultures. I will definitely recommend EC because every time I need to get anything from the school I got it, including my English improvement. Learn English in Canada is a great experience! The people are friendly and helpful, Vancouver has recreational areas such as parks and extraordinary walks all around the city. The view of mountains covered with snow is something worth to be seeing again!”
Luiz is one of our Brazilian Students, he studied in EC four weeks, and here is what he thinks about his program. “I wanted to study English in Canada, so I chose EC because one friend of mine studied here before and he gave me a good recommendation about the school. Teachers are very attentive and engaging, actually the classes are very interesting. I will totally recommend the school because EC has many sources to help all the students. Study English in Vancouver has been an awesome experience, it is such a beautiful city! If you come you cannot miss what, in my opinion, is the best place: English Bay and the Public Mountains.” === Do you want to study English? Tell us something about you: I’m from the French part of Switzerland. I’m 19 and I love all kinds of sports but especially volleyball! I listen to a lot of music. Why did you choose to be a SA? Because I like to be active for the school I go! In addition, I like to have responsibility and to create animations for the other students. What is your job as student ambassador? Firstly, we are a link between the students and the administration (staff) in EC Vancouver. After that, we try to create events or different activities for the students! And also patrol during the break to catch students who aren’t speaking in English. In your opinion, what is the best activity so far? Why? I think it was our “Explore Vancouver” event to Lynn Canyon. It was our second big event and we had an amazing success! So it was very enjoyable to see that our job was useful!
Tell us something about you: I’m from Korea and I have been staying in EC Vancouver since March. I’m easygoing and active so I’d like to experience new things in Van. Now I’m in the Cambridge class and I’m enjoying every day here. Why you choose to be a SA? As I mentioned, I’ve been staying here quite a long time so I’d like to help students with their questions and have a great time getting to know them. What is your job as student ambassador? I usually try to give opinions on organizing some programmes, and help other SAs if there is something I can do. I’m happy to share my experiences with new students and give some information about Vancouver. In your opinion, what is the best activity so far? Why? I believe “weekly put night” has been a good opportunity to meet and get on well with new friends from EC.
When did you go? The (Canada Day) long weekend I had 3.5 days of fun in Rockie Mountains. Probably I’ll never forget how beautiful is that place it was just a perfect opportunity to make friends. What did you do there? I signed to some interesting activities like canoeing in a beautiful lake, sightseeing tour in a glacier and for me this is the kind of special activity because we don’t have snow in Brazil, and also hanging out with friend in pubs. The guides prepared a campfire and we banked some marshmallows and a Brazilian friend played guitar exactly like in the brochure in the travel agency LOL!!! What was your favourite thing about that day? No doubts about this topic… the answer is the people that I met but if have to choose a place to talk about it would be the magnificent Lake Louise, it was breathtaking and all my friends from Brazil got interested to know which place is that with this amazingly beautiful blue water! Who did you go with? Lots of students from EC School, different schools and dozens of different nationalities! For example Marina (Brazil), Ramona (Switzerland), Ali (Saudi Arabia), Geraldo (Mexico) and many other great people! Are you going to go again? / Would you recommend this activity to other students? I strongly recommend this travel, if you have the opportunity do not hesitate just go! Mainly if you live in a tropical country like me it’s the perfect opportunity to see some snow. Do you want to say anything about the photos? I don’t think I need to say nothing the pictures can talk for themselves! A big THANK YOU to William for sharing his experience with us!
