Homestay provides a friendly and comfortable home for students during their stay in Brighton, plus great exposure to the English language and culture. All homestay providers are visited before they are accepted to host students to ensure comfort and safety.

Living in a homestay is a wonderful experience. This unique option lets you stay in a local home and discover a different lifestyle and culture. Practise your language skills in a natural setting, while enjoying all the comforts and pleasures of a warm, welcoming home. Enjoy the unique opportunity to share the day to day life of your homestay providers, as well as learning about the diversity of the local culture. EC staff members are available at all times to help students adjust to life in a new environment, and to serve as a liaison between them and their homestay provider. Homestays are arranged directly by EC or by our accommodation partners.
Students eat breakfast at their homestay. Cereals, toast, fruit, tea, coffee.
Packed lunch is provided by the homestay, consisting of a sandwich, fruit, and a drink is recommended by the school.
A hot meal will be provided each evening at the homestay.
If you have specific diet requirements (e.g, gluten free/vegetarian/Halal), please let us know before your arrival.
EC leader to student ratio: 1:15
The programme includes: 5 halfday activities per week, 4 evening activities per week, and 1 full day activity per week (based on a 2-week programme).
Minimum stay: 1 week
English course: 20 General English lessons per week (15 hours)
Students per class: 15 maximum
Arrival day: Saturday
Departure day: Saturday
Please note, packages include accommodation for 7 nights per week, thus arrival on a Saturday and departure on a Sunday will incur an extra night’s fee. More than 2 extra nights will incur a full extra week fee.
Airport transfers are compulsory unless students are accompanied to the school/their accommodation by a guardian.
