Learning Centre

EC Cambridge

Lessons are held at EC's modern school in the centre of Cambridge. Excellent facilities create a great environment for focused study, and our friendly staff help our junior students feel relaxed, at home, and ready to learn.  

English Course

General English – 20 lessons (15 hours) per week. The course will help improve English language skills by focusing on the key areas: speaking, listening, reading and writing. A strong focus is placed on speech and using the language confidently and fluently.

Lessons are engaging and designed especially for young learners. Teachers aim to satisfy any interest, with a focus on communication to boost students' confidence when using English in practical situations. Regular tests and conversation classes help to ensure that students improve their English as much as possible.

Our dedicated and professional teaching staff provide feedback and support and help students build confidence to speak English.

Room Type: Single or Twin room (students in a twin room are placed with other students of the same gender)  and shared bathroom (1 bathroom per 4 to 6 students)

The distinguished Jesus Residence is situated in the centre of the beautiful city of Cambridge, an 8 minute walk from EC Young learners learning centre. Shops, cafés, sports facilities, a multiplex cinema and the historical sites of Cambridge are all within walking distance of Jesus Residence.

Getting to school & activities

On the first day, students are taken to school by their Social Leader. This is just an 8 minute walk to the junior centre. Students can catch a bus to school. In order to attend all activities, students must purchase a bus pass. A weekly bus pass costs around £16 per week and can be purchased on the bus.

Meals

Breakfast

Students will receive a breakfast including tea/coffee, toast, jam and cereal at each boarding house in Jesus College residence.

Lunch

Lunch is provided in various outlets in Cambridge city centre. These may include restaurants such as British, Italian, Chinese and American, offering a variety of cuisines. Social Leaders will accompany students to pre-arranged restaurants each day. Packed lunches will be provided on full day excursions.

Dinner

Dinner is either delivered to Jesus Residence or provided in various outlets in Cambridge city centre. These may include British, Italian, French, Asian and American cuisine. Social Leaders will accompany students to pre-arranged restaurants and supervise dinner.
