After leaving school I worked in the health service as an administrator, before becoming a paramedic in London for seven years. Then came fourteen years as an Airfield Operations Safety Officer at Heathrow and Gatwick and finally, a similar period working on Southern Rail where I became interested in teaching English as a foreign language.
