Homestay

Live with an English-speaking family.

Homestay accommodation offers a friendly and welcoming environment. Students can choose to stay in a private or a twin room, breakfast is included. Towels and bed linen are provided and laundry facilities are available for student use. Distance to school: there are no families within walking distance of the school.

Hometays in New York are located in all five boroughs - Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. EC New York also has a few homestays in some parts of New Jersey. Homestays in Manhattan are at a higher price than homestays in other areas of New York, and only offer bed and breakfast.

The average journey to school is 60 minutes (longer for some homestays) by public transport.

Economy Homestay Option:

Economy Homestay is cheaper than Homestay. Students stay with families that have 4 or more students in each home. This means you will still have a homestay experience, but with more freedom.

Some host families have three story homes with several bedrooms, whilst others have smaller apartments. All homestays are located in safe areas of the city. Students may find New York to be very fast paced and may notice that their host families work long hours.

Twin rooms must be booked by two students travelling together.

Good value accommodation in Manhattan.

In an Economy Residence you will live with like-minded EC students from across the world; speaking and practising your English with them in your residence. This form of accommodation is ideal for anyone who wants an independent lifestyle and wants to meet new people. Distance to school: maximum journey is 25 minute subway commute.

Student Residence

Quality accommodation in the heart of Manhattan.

This is accommodation is a great option for the independent student who enjoys his freedom and wants to meet some like-minded people. The residence offers fully furnished en-suite rooms. Linen will be provided but students should bring their own towels. Distance to school: depending on location, from a 10 minute walk to a 25 minute subway commute.

Summer Residence

Summer accommodation in Manhattan

The residence offers fully furnished ensuite rooms. All rooms include air conditioning/heating, a refrigerator, microwave, private bathroom, cable TV, LCD TV, Wi-Fi access, and high-speed internet service in rooms for students who have their laptops. Bedsheets are provided but you should bring your own towels. Common areas are cleaned by staff, however, students are responsible for cleaning their own bedrooms and bathrooms.

Located on Manhattan's Upper East Side, the residence is an 18-story high-rise which has been recently renovated. It is close to the amazing Museum Mile, Central Park, Carl Shultz Park and two blocks from the 96th St / Lexington Avenue subway station. Students staying in this area can enjoy affordable restaurants, stores, markets and cultural events all around.
