Museum of Fine Arts with Margot!

EC Students enjoy the Museum of Fine Arts with Margot.

Unfortunately it was a brief tour, as the museum closed early tonight for a private event, but it was great to beat the heat with a taste of what the MFA has to offer.

We were able to get a glimpse of Monet, Van Gogh, Rembrandt and Degas and we also spent a little time hanging out with the Mummies!

EC BOSTON GREEN! WHY RECYCLE PAPER?

WHY RECYCLE?

Five reasons to recycle paper
1. A typical office generates about 450 g (1 lb) of paper per employee. Of that paper, 77% is recyclable.
2. Recycling paper uses 30-50% less energy than making paper from trees.
3. Pollution is reduced by 95% when used paper is made into new sheets
4. Newspaper can be recycled into egg cartons, game boards, new newspaper, gift boxes, animal bedding, insulation and packaging material.
5. Office paper can be recycled into paper towels, tissue and toilet paper.

My name is Kevin Crotty and I will be responsible for coordinating EC Boston student transfers to and from Logan Airport throughout the summer. I am from Boxford, Massachusetts and am currently a Spanish major/Music minor at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. I have played the alto and tenor saxophone my entire life and have also produced electronic music and worked in several studios. I recently returned from studying abroad in Salamanca, Spain with the Colby College Integrated program. After participating in the Colby program, I have a much better understanding of both the ups and downs of the study abroad experience and am eager to work with students going through the same challenges.
I am very excited to be a part of the EC Boston team because of my fascination with foreign cultures and languages and hope to help students have the best possible experience in America!

Welcome to Kevin Crotty!!

A Few Minutes With Ryan G

THIS WEEK we sat down with Ya Ting Ku from Taiwan.

R: Ya Ting, where in Boston do you live?
YT: I live in Allston in the EC apartments?
R: How do you like your neighborhood?
YT: I can cross the street and take the T… very convenient!
R: What’s your favorite part about Boston?
YT: It’s very beautiful, especially at night.
R: Why at night?
YT: There are a lot of lights!
(laughs)
R: If you could be in a movie, which movie would you be in?
YT: Harry Potter.
R: Why Harry Potter?
YT: Because I want to have magic.
R: What would you do with this magic?
YT: If I didn’t like someone, I would change him into a pig!
(laughs)
R: And what would you do to me?
YT: Teachers are good so I could give you money!
R: (laughs) That sounds good to me!
