“I Am Dance” is a celebration of pure passion, inspiration, dedication, natural talent, unbridled energy and glorious creativity. Afrika Ablaze is renowned for transcending the boundaries of conventional dance. The cast of 50 young performers, have contributed tremendously to the choreographic content of the show and this, Jones claims, is the primary reason why “I Am Dance” is going to stun audiences and lovers of dance.
All dance genres, ranging from Ballet to Hip hop to Contemporary to African Jazz to Cabaret and Kwaito, form part of this bold, innovative, touching and thought-provoking show.

Today we say goodbye to a fabulous and very talented teacher, Robbie.
His Intermediate class surprised him with a Chocolate Mousse cake during the lesson to wish him farewell.
Robbie is not only a well respected teacher and colleague but also EC’s in-house sports guru as well as football coach to the EC Cape Town football team ~ which is winning this seasons inter-school league by far and large!
He is off to teach in Saudi Arabia and we, at EC Cape Town – teachers, students and staff, would like to wish him only the very best.
Hurry home Robbie, we miss you already!
Mandela Day is an international day in honour of Nelson Mandela, celebrated on 18 July (Mandela’s birthday), which calls for individuals to take responsibility for changing the world into a better place- as Mandela did- by giving time in supporting a chosen charity or serving the local community. EC staff & students visited Barcelona Children’s Home in Gugulethu township to play with the children and also hand out gifts donated at the EC Christmas in July party

On Friday the 13th of July, EC was transformed into a wonderful winter wonderland! There were Christmas trees, tinsel, “snow” and every type of Christmas decoration all over the school! The Christmas spirit really was all around as students helped to decorate the school and make it look perfect for the party.
On a chilly winters evening with Christmas carols playing in the background and students arriving with hands full of gifts it truly was the perfect setting for a “Christmas in July” event! The evening started out quite relaxed, as everyone nibbled on a variety of snacks and enjoyed some drinks, but as the night carried on the party just kept getting merrier by the minute!
From all of the staff at EC we would just like to give a big thank you to all of the wonderful gifts that we received from students at the party. Everyone went out of their way and really warmed our hearts with all of the lovely and thoughtful gifts that were provided! These gifts will surely be appreciated greatly by all of the children to whom they will be donated.

Tatiana Ivanovo from Russia had her first taste of the EC experience at EC Miami at the beginning of the year. Having come to beautiful Cape Town to attend a conference she decided to freshen up her English at EC Cape Town.
This is what Tatiana has to say ” It’s multi-cultural, everyone’s incredibly friendly and EC traditions are present”
Thank you Tatiana and enjoy your stay with us.
