DominicI was at EC Malta for two months. I think this is a good school, because they have a good infrastructure and it’s close to the centre. And there are a lot of opportunities for leisure activities. I like Malta because it’s a small and nice island and it’s almost always sunny. It has a lot of little cities, where you can go for a walk along the beach or do some shopping. I booked the general course (20 lessons per week). If you like to enjoy the sunny weather in the afternoon this is the best course for you. In the evening I prefer the Hugo’s Bar and Lounge in Paceville. The Native Bar is also a pleasant place to have a drink.

My favourite activity was playing football because I love this sport and Go-Karting was fun, too. For the accommodation I recommend that you book an apartment or a residence. You will be independent and flexible. I don’t think that you will speak less English in a student’s residence than in a host family because there are other students from different countries. That’s more interesting. If I ever come back to Malta I think I’ll choose EC Malta again.

Temple Tour - Ħaġar Qim & Għar Dalam

The Megalithic temples of Malta are amongst the most ancient religious sites on Earth, described by the World Heritage Sites Commitee as “unique architectural masterpieces.”

The megalithic complex of Ħaġar Qim is located atop a hill on the southern edge of the island of Malta, on a ridge capped in soft globigerina limestone.

Għar Dalam (pronounced ar dàlam in Maltese and meaning “Cave of Darkness”) is a prehistorical cul de sac located on the outskirts of  Birzebuggia, Malta containing the bone remains of animals that were stranded and subsequently became extinct on Malta at the end of the Ice Age. It has lent its name to the Ghar Dalam phase in Maltese prehistory.

Eri Fujioshi

I came to Malta at the end of August. This season is very hot and I could see beautiful scenery such as blue sea, clean sky and sun shine.
I really enjoyed swimming in the sea. In the beginning I was a little bit confused to learn English at school, because there were a lot of students and also I couldn’t follow their conversation due to my poor English. After some days I realized Malta is a special place. The country is cosmopolitan and I have never stayed which such many nationalities of people together.
For example my classmates’ nationality was Russian, German, Korean, Swiss, Colombian and French, etc.
Secondly, EC school teachers are great. When I felt a little nervous about using English they encouraged and motivated me. My lessons are also good, they explain carefully until I understand it.
Finally I have a lot of experience with friends. After school we gather again and for going to a dinner a drink together. It is so nice. We can talk with each other and it helps me to improve my English.

After all the Christmas cheer,
it’s time to welcome another year.
Many resolutions on our minds.
Numerous plans of various kinds.

Looking back on the year gone by.
Did you help others, or at least try?
Did you instigate smiles or frowns?
Were you the cause of ups or downs?

Let’s not forget our absent friends,
whose cherished friendship never ends.
Relatives gone before us to light the way,
to heaven so we could be reunited one day.

A brand-new year means a fresh start,
so open your mind and also your heart.
Use your potential, make life grand.
Divided we fall, united we stand.

May your rewards be more and regrets less.
Have a prosperous New Year and God bless.
