Our Course Outline

At EC Boston we believe in the holistic approach, that's why our courses are designed to give you both the theoretical and practical training you need to gain the necessary skills and confidence required to teach English as a Foreign Language. With EC Boston you will:

  • be given the necessary tools to teach the 4 basic skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking
  • review basic grammatical terms and practical grammar teaching techniques
  • learn effective use of blackboard and communication activities
  • acquire the ability to facilitate learning through the use of ice-breaking/classroom activities
  • develop your own learning style
  • practice preparing lessons according to the identified needs of the ESL classes
  • gain teaching experience through peer teaching and teaching actual ESL students on completion of the course
  • observe real on-going classes and gain hands-on experience by teaching real students using theories and techniques you learn in class
  • get help preparing your resume and finding a good teaching job in the US or overseas

We also offer free workshops and extensive help in finding teaching jobs abroad. EC Boston regularly receives job postings from overseas and makes these available to our graduates.
