Teaching Methods

The classroom environment, with small group sizes, is designed to be relaxed, interesting and enjoyable.

The format of lessons varies but you will always follow a communicative approach syllabus working on all your English language skills. You participate in classroom discussions, work in small groups, in pairs or individually. You practise your English pronunciation, intonation and accent.

Our English courses build your passive knowledge and make your passive knowledge active. During your course you will have two teachers so that you are exposed to two different voices to listen and respond to, and learn from.

Your lessons will be topic based focusing on various issues from current events to culinary issues. Your teachers will expand on this topic helping you to increase your vocabulary, work on your grammar, improve your sentence construction and allow you to express yourself in the correct manner.

A teacher trainer helps out teachers with new ideas and is constantly working on schemes of work to standardise lessons and ensure that all students achieve their full potential at EC. Teachers have a wide variety of books that they use to complement the class books during their lessons, in order to make classes more interactive and interesting.
