The Art Exposition organized by the Upper Intermediate class was a great success! Four teams presented their work on a selected theme. Many students and staff came to visit the exposition and voted for their favorite gallery and picture. The great winners were Youjin from Korea and Juan Camilo from Colombia, who succeeded to convince the public with their photos! EC Montreal English School’s teacher, Souha, was very proud of the great work all the groups have done!
Last Friday EC Montreal students had the chance to participate in a lecture about the Canadian Art Scene. Nathalie Quagliotto, a Toronto based conceptual artist, held this lecture and informed the students about different aspect of being an artist in Canada. After some brain-storming and information in-put, our students could directly ask questions to an expert in this field. Questions like “How artists make money in Canada”, or “Which Canadian Universities offer good art degree programs” were discussed. If you plan to study ESL abroad at EC Montreal, participating in a big variety of free activities will be an efficient component to improve your language skills as well as your knowledge about context-related topics and real-life experiences. You can find out more about Nathalie Quagliotto on her website http://nathaliequagliotto.com/.
EC Montreal has many talented homestay families. Margot Bussierre will be presenting her art in an exhibition on Friday, June 15 2012. Check it out.
What amazing families we have at EC Montreal. As soon as we sent out the message for the event “giving back to our community” we got an overwhelming response. We received quite a few emails saying Fred must have been an amazing person. They wished the family that Fred has left behind strength to go on in his memory. One homestay family that really touched us was Margotella Bussiere. Margo has been hosting for us for a couple of years but has definitely made an impression. Margo has a very busy lifestyle, she is an artist. We always post her next show on our student’s bulletin board. Despite her busy schedule Margo loves to host. She loves to learn about different cultures and includes students in all her functions. Whenever we have a function at school Margot is always present with her beautiful smile and personality. When Margo received our email she immediately contacted us to say she will be there to support us in this worthy cause. Her son Mark Lawrence plays the guitar. Margo volunteered to bring her son along to give ambiance to our good deed. Yes, EC Montreal has amazing homestay families. We are very proud of each and every one of them. Please feel free to google Margot and her son. Margot has amazing art work. Here is a small sample below. You can see Margot in her home, the pictures are Margot’s work of art.
