English lessons for absolute beginners

Sharing is caring!

The EC San Francisco English language school will be running a True Beginner class from July 8, 2024 and from January 6, 2025.  These courses are 4 weeks and students can choose to do the full 4 weeks or start in the subsequent weeks and study for 3, 2, or 1 week.

After 4 weeks, students can continue studies with us as they will be more prepared for a potential blended, low-level course thereafter.

To make students feel more comfortable, EC San Francisco will send its welcome communications in Korean, Arabic, Portuguese, and Japanese for this course. True Beginner Students will be partnered with a buddy, as nationalities provide, at the school who speaks the same language too.

With set dates at a specific location, we aim to build a group of beginner level students to learn together.  This should help confidence as students feel connected and able to relate better to peers of the same English level as we deliver lessons targeting basic English without higher-level English students in that classroom.

During all our courses, we encourage our students to:

Set Clear Goals

Determine why you want to learn English and set specific, achievable goals. Whether it’s for travel, work, education, or personal enrichment, having a clear purpose will keep you motivated throughout your learning journey.

Immerse Yourself

Surround yourself with English as much as possible. Listen to English music, watch movies or TV shows with English subtitles, read English books or articles, and engage with English-speaking communities online or in person. EC San Francisco offers many social activities where you can mix with students at all levels from all around the world.

Practice Regularly

Consistency is key to language learning. Make it a habit to practice English every day, even if it’s just for a few minutes. Practice speaking, writing, listening, and reading to develop all aspects of your language skills. Talk to yourself in English – even if silently – so you can get used to finding the right words.

Use a Variety of Resources

Explore different learning resources such as textbooks, language apps, online courses, podcasts, language exchange partners, and tutoring services. Find what works best for you and incorporate a variety of materials into your learning routine.

Be Patient and Persistent

Learning a new language takes time and effort, so be patient with yourself and celebrate your progress along the way. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, as they are an essential part of the learning process. You will be with students who are also True Beginners and you will be surprised how much you know and can learn from each other.

Stay Motivated

Keep your motivation high by setting short-term goals, rewarding yourself for achieving milestones, and reminding yourself of the benefits of learning English. Find ways to make learning fun and enjoyable, such as gamifying your study sessions or exploring topics that interest you.

We want to you succeed and are on hand to help you achieve your goals! So if you are a true beginner, sign up for these focused classes where all students will be at the same level.
