That is what we did on Thursday 12th of March.
EC Brighton English language school organised a Comic Relief Show to raise money for children living in poor circumstances. With the generous support of our students and staff members we raised £ 158.10, which EC matched, making the total amount of £ 316.20.
As you can see from our photos everyone had a great time watching people performing and singing songs. We had performances fromStephenie and Tim as Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers who sang ‘Islands in the Stream’, teacher Linda Pace as Celine Dion who sang “My heart will go on”, student Dongyeol Shin played his guitar and his Upper Intermediate classmates sang ‘Let it be’ and the ‘Rebel Swiss Forces’: Mercedes, Desiree, Zuzana and Sibylle who sang YMCA together with our GM Jes.
We concluded the afternoon with Mike Xuereb, CEO of EC from Malta who kindly handed out the prizes which included a ‘candle lit dinner’ – tin of beans and a candle; a drier – washing line and pegs plus various other silly prizes which we all had a giggle over.
On Friday, 13th March we encouraged students and teachers to come to school is something they don’t normally wear. As you can see from the photos, everyone took advantage of the fun day and raised some more money.
We want to thank all of you who dug deep into your pockets and help raise such an amazing amount of money towards this great cause which overall raised nearly £58 million pounds.
