The weekend of the 23rd – 24th July we have a trip to Bath and Stonehenge £100
Saturday We depart from outside Parkside Police Station, Cambridge at 07.15 and drive directly to Bath, with one short stop en route, before checking into our city centre accommodation. You will then have a guided walking tour of historic Bath, considered the most beautiful city in the country, and see all the important sights of this impressive Georgian city and also learn about its Roman past. After the tour the rest of the day is free to further explore and enjoy the city. You can visit the Georgian Assembly Rooms and its Costume Museum, the medieval Abbey, the excellent shopping centre, watch and enjoy the street entertainers and lots more. You can even bathe in the hot thermal waters of the open-air rooftop pool of the Thermae Bath Spa with its great views over the city. The evening is also free for you to discover the many good restaurants, friendly pubs, live music and, being a University city, a choice of good lively night-clubs. Your Bath guide and your Travelsights escort will have some good suggestions on how to spend your time.
Sunday After breakfast at 09.15 we leave our accommodation and visit the famous Roman Baths which includes a self-guided audio tour. The rest of the morning is free. We depart Bath at 13.00 and drive directly to Stonehenge, considered the greatest prehistoric monument in Europe. The building of this stone monument was begun over 5000 years ago and an audio tour helps to explain the great achievement and some of the mysteries that surround Stonehenge. We then continue our return journey to Cambridge, arriving back at around 18.30.
