Hello Everyone, I’m a Civil Engineer and I would like to speak a little bit about my journey to Cape Town.
Before arriving here, I was afraid about this choice because it isn’t “the First World” and I could have chosen to travel to the USA, Europe or wherever. The worst was I hadn’t booked accommodation with the help of the school. To book, I accessed a website and made the booking. Surprisingly, the city that I was afraid of, is amazing.
I arrived at the airport and took the bus (Mycity bus) to learn quickly how to move around using public transport (for me, it’s an excellent system). I arrived safely at my house in the neighbourhood Walmer Estate, a very quiet area and 4 km from EC Cape Town language school. I can take the bus in 3 minutes (walking). I am very happy I chose to come here. It is an amazing place with wonderful views (like Lion’s Head, Table Mountain, Cape of Good Hope and so on). The cost of living is a little bit less than Brazil (excellent), and the school takes care of the students. I like this.
About safety, don’t worry. Just take care of your stuff as any other place.
Braulio stayed with us for three months and is now in Australia continuing his adventure. We miss him at school but we are glad we could a small part of his journey. Come back soon Braulio 🙂
