On Saturday, May 2, NDG (Notre-Dame-de-Grace) hosted its first annual Porchfest.
On a warm spring day in NDG, you might not be surprised to hear someone strumming their guitar on their front porch, or maybe even their rooftop. Almost every street has a handful of musically inclined residents. Porchfest gives those people—and porches—a chance to shine, and a chance for others to stop and listen without feeling shy about it!
It’s a day for NDG residents and visitors to discover local musicians as they perform on neighbourhood front porches.
The first community Porchfest was held in Ithaca, New York, and has since inspired many other towns and communities, who now hold very successful Porchfests every year! We hope to start the same great tradition right here in Montreal’s NDG area!
In addition to bringing residents together through local music, Porchfest also provides a great opportunity to appreciate NDG’s wonderful architecture and spring foliage!
We encourage all our EC Montreal students to discover the beautiful neighborhoods in NDG!
Join our English courses in Montreal with EC and we will introduce you to the many wonderful areas of Montreal!
