Have you visited the Biosphere on Parc Jean Drapeau yet? It is an environmental museum and as it has unveiled its new programming schedule today, they have decided that for this week only, admission to the museum will be free in honor of Canada’s Environment Week!
The Biosphere is Canada’s only environment and climate change museum. Its goal is to raise awareness to this global issue.
A new permanent exhibition, MTL+ will showcase the work and visions of 14 renowned architectural firms that have researched the future of Montreal 2067, redesigning iconic Montreal infrastructures.
During the summer of 2019, the museum will unveil a new public space, Espace 67, that will connect the Biosphere to the metro station.
After this initial free week from June 2 to June 8, admission at the Biosphere is very reasonably priced. Tickets vary between $10 and $15 if you are a student, senior or adult.
The Biosphere is one of the most instagrammable places in the city. It is an iconic image and has become a landmark tourist attraction. In addition to looking quite impressive in pictures, attending the museum will teach visitors a lot about the environment and climate change.
Visiting the Biosphere is a great opportunity for you to visit Parc Jean Drapeau. There you will find a lot of tourist attractions including the Six Flags Amusement Park, The Montreal Casino, The F1 circuit for the Grand Prix as well as the park and beach. You can get to Parc Jean Drapeau by taking the Green Line metro from Guy-Concordia to Berri-Uqam and changing to the Yellow Line from Berri-Uqam to Parc Jean-Drapeau. The Yellow Line offers free wifi service, another fun Montreal fact!
As it is Grand Prix Week in Montreal, it is the perfect week to get out to the island and celebrate Montreal’s many attractions!
