We are celebrating Easter this weekend and this year it will surely be different from what we are used to. We are mandated to stay home to help the spread of the covid-19 virus in order to protect ourselves and to protect others. In fact, law enforcers can fine you if you are not respecting this mandate. You cannot leave your neighbourhoods, even when going to get groceries. So, how do we celebrate this blessed Easter weekend if we are not in the company of our family and loved ones? There are several things you can do to help celebrate the holiday. Here are some ideas:
Bake! Take a virtual baking class and bake yourself something festive for Easter. There are so many Easter recipes to try like cookies, chocolates and cakes. All you need is some icing sugar and food colouring to make them look more festive.
Make yourself an Easter brunch and enjoy it in bed! If you are alone, indulge in an “eggstra” special breakfast from the comfort of your bed. There are so many wonderful egg dishes to try like omelettes, quiches, or the easy scrambled eggs will do as well.
If you are living with a host family, offer to help your family prepare the Easter meal and incorporate some of your traditional dishes.
Decorate Easter eggs! All you need is a little food colouring and fresh eggs. Bring the eggs to a boil and place a few drops of food colouring in the water. You can make so many different colours to make the dining table more colourful.
You can also have a virtual lunch with your loved ones back home. Make yourself something festive to eat and enjoy the meal while you facetime or skype with your family back home.
Make yourself a great big bowl of popcorn and binge watch a new series on Netflix. Netflix has added so many new shows and movies to enjoy during this pandemic. You can even download the Netflix party app and enjoy the movie with your friends and family.
You can also use this time to check out all the different assignments available as you learn French or English online with EC virtual. You can get a head start on your homework and continue progressing.
