Here is a list with 4 great spots for hiking near Vancouver.
1 – Deep Cove – Quarry Rocky
Located 45 minutes from Downtown, Quarry rock is easy hiking for all ages and levels of experience.
From the top, you can have a stunning ocean view; sit on the huge boulder and relax before starting the walk down.
Not a hiking fan? The summer season offers many attractions such as kayaking, stand up paddleboarding and swimming!
In the village, there are many spots for picnics and barbecue, and don`t forget to try the delicious honey doughnuts in the village.
2 – Grouse Grind
One of the most iconic hiking spots in Vancouver and only 25 minutes driving from Downtown, Grouse Grind is considered an easy/medium hike.
Be brave and face the 2830 steep steps to arrive at the top.
The reward is a nice view of Vancouver, and many attractions such as the bears, lumberjack and bird show.
Tired? No worries, get the gondola to go down and enjoy your day!
Grouse Grind is part of Grouse Mountain and is open from June to September.
In the winter the mountain offers snowboarding, skiing and snowshoeing activities.
3 – Capilano River Region and Cleveland Dam
Located in North Vancouver, Close to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, this hike is an amazing spot to relax and contemplate the incredible view.
On the trails, stop by The Capilano Salmon Hatchery and depending on the season, you can get the unique chance to see the salmon migration.
The park is also great for meditation, picnics and a scenic place for wedding pictures.
4 – Lighthouse Park
Voted one of the most beautiful places in Vancouver, Lighthouse Park is located in West Vancouver with easy access from Downtown Vancouver.
Bring your friends and explore the trails and check out the magical view of English Bay, Howe Sound and Vancouver Island.
Perfect for a day trip with family and dogs.
PS: if well-behaved, dogs can walk off leash on the trail.
Barbecues, fire and cooking are not allowed in the park.
