Brighton & Hove Food & Drink Festival – From 1st – 30th September Brighton & Hove will be celebrating the best food and drink available across Sussex. Now a firm favourite in Brighton’s extensive Festival calendar, the Brighton & Hove Food Festival offers major foodie events every weekend throughout September, including Taste of Sussex Market Weekend, Fiery Food and Wine Festivals, Children’s Festival and World Food Market. The 2009 Festival will also include for the first time an ‘Open House Dining’ event for foodies in the style of ‘Come Dine with Me’. One of this weekend’s highlights is the Food and Drink Festival Market with the Live Food Stage, on New Road and Jubilee Road from 10am – 6pm on Saturday & Sunday.

Heritage Open Days – From 10th – 13th September over 150 venues in Brighton & Hove will be participating in Heritage Open Days. Heritage Open Days celebrates England’s fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission. Every year on four days in September, buildings of every age, style and function throw open their doors, ranging from castles to factories, town halls to tithe barns, parish churches to Buddhist temples. It is a once-a-year chance to discover hidden architectural treasures and enjoy a wide range of tours, events and activities which bring to life local history and culture.
