Last week one of the Survival English afternoon lessons was spiced up a bit with some retail therapy! The theme of the week’s lessons was “Food and Shopping” so students were challenged to use their new vocabulary in a real life situation in a supermarket. The class was divided into teams and each team had a different mission to accomplish. One of the many tasks involved the students designing a 3-course meal for their teacher and then finding the ingredients and their prices in the supermarket. There was a strict budget for every task and there was also a time limit to complete the missions. The teams were also encouraged to ask shop assistants for help and it seemed like everyone was very confident in using their new vocabulary in this situation. All of the teams successfully completed their missions and had a ton of fun in the process! Well done to everyone who participated!
