In order to learn more about our Maltese Culture, The Adult Programme at EC Malta organised a Maltese Folklore Event for our students whereby local suppliers came to EC Malta and set up a number of stands with local products . Products included local honey, local wine and several types of liquors which were readily available for students to taste. There were also a number of sweets and typical Maltese dishes on display, including our famous and delicious ‘Hobz biz-zejt’ (Maltese bread with tomato paste and olive oil). Filigree (meaning “wire work’’), a jewel work of a delicate kind made with twisted threads, usually of silver or gold, was also on display. Students and staff all joined us for this joyful event and tried the different flavours available. Towards the end we also enjoyed a small performance by Ryan, one of our social leaders who played a few of our folklore tunes.
