OLIVE OIL FESTIVAL

Undoubtedly one of the most sought after events by locals and tourists alike, Żejt iz-Żejtun welcomes the olive-picking season with a festival that features olive-pressing demonstrations, pageantry, crafts exhibitions and other family oriented activities, all set in one of the oldest villages in the South of Malta. Olives and their different by-products are also on sale. The place name Żejtun itself in its original Semitic connotation signifies the fruit of the olive trees.
