On Good Friday many towns and villages commemorate the Passion of the Christ by organising a very solemn procession portraying the Passion of Christ. The statues are carried around the villages by pallbearers. Between one statue and another local participants are dressed as biblical characters and take part in the procession in a dignified manner. Many processions include men in penitence bearing a cross and sometimes dragging chains tied to their bare feet as penitence. EC will be organising a special Good Friday Tour to experience this day. Sign up at the EC Reception. This is a Public Holiday and the School will be closed.
