“I chose this course because I read about the multicultural life in Montreal and wanted that feeling. I decided to study in an intensive course for 4 weeks to learn English. Before I arrived here I learned English 4 years ago in school. Since then I never used this language. So I got the intermediate level where I could remember my grammar, learn new vocabulary, get a few tips for reading and writing and, of course, practice speaking and listening to and with people.
I liked the games which we had during the lessons. We also discussed about any subjects, worked together in groups or watched movies. I liked the school location because the metro station was not far away. Also, there were many restaurants where you could go for lunch. Pharmacies, supermarkets, post office, shopping malls. Everything was near the school. I was worried about my homestay before coming to Canada, but my host mother was so friendly and helpful. She showed me the way to school. In our area, there were some interesting things like a park and library. She also gave me a lot of tips about where I should visit while staying here. I had a big room with a TV. I had a wireless internet access and my own bathroom as I requested when I registered. I had different ways to get to school like by bus and metro or on foot. The next metro station was only 10 minutes away and that was great.
Moreover, the school activity showed me a lot of Montreal. I made a tour through old port, went to the casino and karaoke and for ice skating. My favorite trip was the sugar shack! It was so funny! We got a yellow school bus and drove with them to a maple farm. There, we made a horse trip through the maple wood and we had a traditional meal!
My class were very mixed and so I met different people from all over the world! : Switzerland, Korean, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Taiwan, Brazil, Mexico…
I always will remember that great time here in EC and never forget the fun I ad with my new friends.”
