Cesar Chavez Day is tomorrow, March 31st!

EC San Diego is off for this California-centric holiday. (Remember: school will be in session the next day, Friday April 1st). California is a culturally diverse state with a storied history, and Cesar Chavez is an important part of that history. Many of EC’s English Classes in San Diego incorporate lessons that support our mission to provide students with the best full immersion ESL program possible – including lessons on past and present California.

Below is a brief description of Cesar Chavez:

Cesar Chavez was one of the first Civil Rights Activists to stand up for worker’s rights in California, particularly the rights of immigrant workers. Because of his efforts, the National Farm Workers Association (later the United Farm Workers union) became a reality in the 1970s, and still exists today. Chavez fought to protect the rights and freedoms of farm workers everywhere.
